Beach & Camping Safety for Pets

Summer adventures are even better when our furry friends can come along! Whether you’re heading to the beach, the campground, or the cottage, a little preparation can help keep your pets safe and comfortable.

Here are some important tips:

Bring plenty of fresh water and a portable bowl

Make sure your pet has access to shade and a cool place to rest

Keep pets on a leash and under supervision in unfamiliar areas

Avoid strenuous activity during the hottest parts of the day

Check sand, rocks, and pavement temperatures before your pet walks on them

Protect your pet from fleas, ticks, mosquitoes, and other parasites

Watch pets closely around water and consider a life jacket for boating or strong currents
