The Team

Sonia Richard is a Small Animal Veterinarian and has been practicing since 1997.

Sonia graduated from Faculté de Médecine Vétérinaire at Université de Montréal (QC) in 1997. She joined the Shediac Veterinary Hospital as a veterinary student when the hospital first opened in 1995. She loved it so much, she decided to work full time upon graduation and has been here ever since.

Over the years, Sonia developed a special interest in dental hygiene, particularly dental surgery. She decided to further her studies and is now known as our “dentist” to our clients. She performs dental cleaning and extractions twice weekly.

Sonia is married and has 2 grown children. She has owned many animals over the years, and interestingly enough, they were always either rescued or adopted from the Hospital. She cannot remember the last time she raised a puppy or kitten! Her current menagerie includes a yorkie named Madeleine, a cat named Simon and a 23-year-old ring-necked dove named Pete. Sonia loves renovating houses, kayaking, sewing and quilting.
